Alcove De Kore can be interpereted in many ways. 'Alcove' means 'nook,' or 'hiding place.' 'De' in many different languages means 'of.' 'Kore' is an ancient Greek word meaning 'young artistic maiden,' or it was another name for the Greek Goddess Persephone. As the designer, publisher and curator of the Art Magazine Alcove De Kore, it was important the name be chosen with a deep respect for the arts and a nostalgic wisdom for creativity.
